Karl Reindler Supercar Explosion and Jason Bright Wins
It's been an eventful weekend at the Trading Post Challenge at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth. Karl Reindler was in a fiery crash at the beginning of the race and Jason Bright went on to place at the top of the podium. After the wave of the green flag which signaled the start of the race, Karl Reindler's Holden Commodore stalled causing Steve Owen to ram Karl from behind.
The 95 mph impact caused Karl's Commodore to burst into flame, leaving a fiery blaze on the track. Both drivers made it out of the wrecks, with Owen receiving no injuries and Karl receiving burns to his hands after his gloves caught fire. Karl was taken to hospital for treatment to his burns. After the crash was cleaned up the race continued and Jason Bright went on to place first, giving Team BOC their first win of the year.
In the day's second race Bright again jumped Whincup off the start and drew out a three-second lead by the pit window. A stuck wheel clip delayed his release, however, and he finished the day in P2. To find out more, visit Jason Brights Website
We would like to congratulate Jason on his win and wish Karl a quick recovery, hoping he can race again soon. Jason
