With an attack of this scale, there is not much you could do to prevent it. There is however ways in which you can protect yourself from everyday minor hacking. Here's how.
- Keep your passwords and account information to yourself: Don't EVER give your password, account details or any login details to anyone. Small things like this can lead to accounts being compromised and exploited.
- Use complicated passwords: When creating a password make sure it contains a combination of lowercase and uppercase letters, symbols and numbers.
- Use a different password, every time: When you are signing up for multiple accounts across the web, be sure to use a different password each time.
- Keep your computer up to date with the latest anti-virus software
- Finally, keep your internet browser up to date, keeping your online browsing as secure as possible.
Following simple steps like these can help to fend most attacks against your online accounts and information.
